The Swing

Hi, my name is Caleb and I'm addicted to my swing.

It usually puts me to sleep. I could sleep the whole day away in this thing as long as it's rocking!
(I'm only frowning here because of that silly flash on Mom's camera. Why does she do that?)
I know I'm a stinker for liking it even better than Mom's or Dad's rocking.

But I can't help it.

I'M IN LOVE!

Two Months Old!

One week ago today was Caleb's TWO MONTH BIRTHDAY. And how did we celebrate? Well, by going to the pediatrician and getting vaccinations. I didn't think the parental classic line, "You'll thank me for this later." would be used so early in infant life.

He cried, I cried, he ate, and then it was all pretty much okay. We did give him some acetaminophen a couple times when he felt a little feverish, but overall he did great.

The real surprise of the day was his weigh-in: 13 lbs, 7 oz! 90th percentile! Who knew I had a big boy on my hands?! I seriously would have guessed he was 10-11 lbs. He's grown 2 inches since birth (an inch per month - not bad!) and is now an even 2 feet tall (not that he stands, but you know).

Caleb has become an award-winning bubble/drool producer lately. Sometimes I just can't keep his shirt dry, no matter what I do. He also smiles and coos a lot, which we love. And NEWS FLASH! He's finally starting to endure, maybe even like his baths. Breakthrough.

He built up to 7 hours straight sleeping last week, which of course was heaven (except the getting up to check for breathing and to pump), but we were back down to 4.5 hours last night. So we'll see. My hope is to have him consistently sleeping 8 or so hours straight at night by the end of the summer. I hope he can do it. And will!

He still just loves to move and to be outside. He has his calm times too. The hiccups get him 3-5 times a day! They usually upset him which is sad. He's also suddenly fallen in love with his swing, which he couldn't stand a week ago. It's funny how things just change sometimes. He's still as cute as ever and we love him tons.

Here are some pictures taken last week on his two month mark.

Basically this picture is my very favorite of him ever. So far, that is.

Party Weekend

FACT: Having tons of your family visiting at the same time = tons of fun.
FACT: I LOVE Tyler's developing talent with photography and photo editing.
FACT: Tyler takes more pictures of the people who pose for him, and sometimes none of those who don't. Thus, our visitors simply are not evenly represented here. Sorry guys.
OPINION: You should all come again very soon.

Hi, this is me.

This is our beautiful city on a beautiful day.

The Jo Jo at the Cathedral.

The whole crowd. Tyler thought I was so silly for holding Caleb up in the picture, but HELLO, he's the whole reason for this big gathering!!

Yes, we tried a BACON BAR from the chocolate store on the strip.
Yes, it was so gross I spit it out!

Hardcore shopper doing her thing.

Sisters and the baby in the Bjorn.

That awesome waterfall fountain along the river walk downtown. This fountain alone makes me wish I had lots of little school-aged children to play in this fountain!

Siblings. They make me so happy!

In case you didn't know, Mr. Rogers (remember, Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood?), was a Pittsburgher. He made his famous TV show and sang his famous song (Won't you be my neighbor?) from right here in our town! I really did watch a lot of Mr. Rogers whilst growing up. Did you?

See? Posing.

Posing!

Also posing - this time with the baby!

The girls. I felt pretty good about how I looked post-labor until I was pictured a bunch next to these girls... oh well, Caleb's worth it.

The man of the weekend spent a lot of his party doing this. What a life, right? :)

We'll be seeing everyone (and more family) again in a couple of weeks and I can hardly wait!! Then a few weeks after that, come back to Pittsburgh, okay??

Some Videos: III of III

And this was just a couple of days ago. He smiles lots of times each day, coos and makes these adorable dinosaur-esque squeaks that I can't help but think are precursors to laughing. I haven't gotten any of it on video, really, but here's a little hint of a smile in this one, and is just kind of all-around cute Caleb. Oh, and he hits himself in the face with his crazy arms and it upsets him... so funny and cute and sad all at the same time!

Some Videos: II of III

This one is also a couple/few weeks old. You can see here how active he sometimes is when he sleeps! He'll do all this crazy stuff with his limbs and head, but sleep through the whole thing. It's so funny to watch. I wish I could get still-shots of each little face he makes during the sequence.

This one is a week and half old. You can see his moves!
