Four Months!

Caleb turned four months old yesterday. Ahh! He's getting so big and strong. It's super exciting and just a little sad that I won't have him as a baby forever. He's getting close to sitting up on his own and enjoys "standing." Overall he's happier and happier all the time. I love it!

We didn't do a real photo-shoot (at least not yet), but here's two of him on Saturday. He kind of has a funny expression here, but you can see his beautiful blue eyes so well that I just had to post it.

Here he is smiling at the Daddy.

Today is also my last day of work. (!!!) I'm turning in my computer this afternoon, so don't be surprised if you don't hear from me for a while. I'm 98% ecstatic to be done with that job and be a full-time mom, 1% sad about losing the laptop, and 1% sad about losing the income. It feels strangely surreal to suddenly be living the life I always wanted. My heart is hesitant to believe it fully just yet - like it's really too good to be true.

Last night I dreamt that I returned to Germany to serve another mission and after a few days of fun being a missionary and speaking German, I suddenly remembered Tyler and Caleb and was just desperate to know if they'd take me back. (Wouldn't you? Look how adorable they are!!) I felt terrible and anxious and so worried. I was incredibly relived to wake up and find Tyler next to me. :)

For years since my mission, I really would have gone again if I would have been allowed. It really was my dream. But it's not anymore. My dream is here and I'm living it!

  1. You were made to be a mom. It's a great dream to have realized, isn't it?

  2. I also have had dreams I was on my mission and then realized I had a kid and was married. It's amazing the anxiety one feels when they remember they gave up the best thing in the world. :) I used to wish I could go back too! But not any more. I guess I grew up and am on to bigger and better things (even though my mission was some of the best times in my life, this is even better).

  3. I totally felt like you said when I quit my job...it seemed too good to be true that I could go to bed when Tom did and rock Braden to sleep every night and just do whatever I needed to do as a mom without worrying about how to fit it in around everything else...I'm so happy for you and glad you will be available to hang out with us all!
