Goey Visits

Okay... hopefully we'll get caught up soon.  I wrote this post back in OCTOBER!

Have I mentioned that Caleb is taking his time learning to talk?  So much so that he receives speech therapy 3 times each week!  It's working and he is improving which is so fun to experience with him!  But my point here is that the way he pronounces "Grandma" is "Goey."  Tyler's mom has decided that it's so endearing that she wants to keep it!  Thus the title... We were all so excited to have Goey come to visit!  

We took some time showing her around town, including a horse-drawn carriage tour, and taking her to Caleb's storytime at the library and tumbling class on base.  We went out to lunch and made yummy food at home.  We shopped and played.  It was great.  Thanks for coming Kim!!  Here are a few pictures:

We visited the National Cemetery here in Beaufort.  Did you know that the Succession began right here in our own little town??  South Carolina was the first state to leave the Union and the first one hundred men who began it signed their names in blood on the walls of a house downtown.  You can still see it today!  Beaufort was taken over by the north fairly early in the war and housed many wounded.  Our town was incredibly involved in the Civil War and now that it is home to one of two Marine Training Bases in the US as well as a Marine Air Station, the military legacy continues.  So there are many veterans buried here in this beautiful National Cemetery, some dating back to the Civil War itself.
