In September Caleb moved from the crib to a toddler bed and the first weekend of October he began wearing underwear! The second transition has amazingly, been a breeze. We've had handful of accidents since the first two days but seriously, not much. I barely think about it. The worst part is that he prefers to have an audience, especially when going #2 and especially when we have guests. He invites all to come and see his new skill and incredible flexibility and dexterity on the big toilet seat (I never did get him any special gear besides a step-stool). Even when we're Skyping he wants various family members to come watch. Likewise, he enjoys being a spectator of the sport, so we need to work on that. But he knows his #1 job is to keep his underwear dry and he does very well at that. I don't have any pictures of this accomplishment because they are all a little gross/TMI/creepy-to-share. But I do have pictures of the toddler bed!
Tyler and Caleb built it one night before bed and he was so excited about it by the end that he crawled right in, with is day-clothes on, and fell asleep. (It was bedtime.) No bedtime routine at all. But we wanted him to be excited so we just went with it. He still sleeps in funny positions sometimes (like a prayer position - knees on floor), upside down, sideways, or falls of completely. Sometimes it wakes him and sometimes it doesn't. I'm not sure how to help him with it! Considering how big he is and how much room his stuffed animals take up, it's not that big. Maybe switch to a twin bed? Just give him time? Not sure, but it's not too big of a deal. He loves it and it's cute.
The first night. So excited.
All tucked in the way he likes to be. Wide eyes thanks to the flash.
One night during the first week... we find him like this sometimes still. Poor boy!
