A Package!

For a moment yesterday, I thought my letter to Spring had really made a difference. Then I wasn't so sure. It kinda feels like Winter has returned, but the liquid state (as opposed to frozen state) of the precipitation actually points to Spring. Maybe I should write a letter to Summer.

Despite the weather change, and it's inherent Monday-ness, yesterday was a great day! My daily ritual of driving home, turning up the heat, hanging up my coat, changing into house shoes (thank you, Mr. Rogers), and checking the mail was significantly sweetened by the arrivial of an unexpected package. It went like this:

Me: Ty! We got a package!!

Him: From whom?

Me: I don't know... hmm... it's from Redding! (Tyler's home town.)

Him: Pure joy on his face as he enters the room and prepares to unravel his treasure.

Me: Your mom is so nice!

Tyler opens the box.

Him: Oh.... disappointment... It's from Shoe Goddess (aka It's for YOU).

Kim (my MIL) made sure it was wrapped in all of it's Shoe Goddess Glory.

A few tid-bits about my mother-in-law:

1. She's INCREDIBLY generous.
2. Her favorite store of all time is (probably) Shoe Goddess. She goes there just about every day. Truly.
3. She knows how to make someone's day.

Thanks Kim - you're the best. And what did she send me? A new raincoat! It has a little lining to take care of the chill that so often accompanies the rain.
Perfect!
